NOODBAG: 15 Years of Handmade Art

A knot that embodies craftsmanship in its most iconic form.

The Noodbag has been one of Lottusse’s great icons for over 15 years. It was born in 2008 as the result of a clear quest: to design a piece that would bring together the brand’s origins, its artisanal mastery, and its Mediterranean soul. A unique bag that speaks of roots, tradition, and a way of creating that respects time and values handcrafted work.

Raw Material

Hand-braided lambskin requires skill and patience that very few artisans master today. For the Noodbag, lamb napa leather is used: a noble, soft, and durable leather. Its natural flexibility and delicate texture allow for lively finishes full of movement.
The process begins when artisans knot, one by one, six strips of leather around a wooden mold that defines the bag’s shape. Each pass is precisely adjusted to the mold’s form until a six-strand knot is created, resembling a small flower that opens and closes. This delicate weave, barely 3 mm wide, is the most distinctive feature of a unique artisanal technique passed down through generations.

for each bag

Craftsmanship in every detail

Making a Noodbag requires coordination and expertise. Four skilled hands take part in its creation: the artisan who cuts the leather, the one who shapes the six-strand flowers—the knots that interlock with the previous and next—, the one who assembles the knots, and the one who molds the bag. It takes six days of work and over 3,400 knots, tied one by one. The result is a bag that embodies Lottusse’s values: craftsmanship, excellence, tradition, and evolution.
